PALM DESERT, CA — A 28-year-old Palm Desert man was found dead after being sought for several days as a missing person. Now, his family has launched a GoFundMe in his memory to raise money for his funeral and those he has left behind.

On Friday morning, the body of Miguel Angel-Chavez was found in the remote Indio desert, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Coroner's Bureau. He was last seen in the Del Webb area of Palm Desert, near Coyote Song Way and Washington Street, two days before. His family indicated that he was "left in the desert while on a date" in the GoFundMe fundraiser they launched to raise funds for his burial and memory.

"Miguel Angel Chavez was only 28 years old when his life was tragically cut short after being left stranded in the desert during a date," his family member shared on a GoFundMe established to support his family. "Miguel was a beautiful soul, known for his warm smile and a laugh that could light up any room. He touched the hearts of those who knew him, and his absence leaves a deep void in the lives of his family and friends.
