More Than 100 Workers Sought At 2 Job Fairs In Coachella Valley

This week's job fairs are in Rancho Mirage and Indio.

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — Two Coachella Valley resorts are looking for new employees to join their ranks, and the companies are holding job fairs this week to fill the open positions.

From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Marriott Vacations Worldwide is holding a hiring event at its Westin Mission Hills Resort Villas location, 71777 Dinah Shore Drive in Rancho Mirage. The employer is looking for housekeepers at a starting pay of $19 an hour.

The event is similar to one held last week. In total, the two Marriott job fairs aim to fill more than 150 year-round positions, according to the company.

From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, another hiring event will take place. Fantasy Springs Resort Casino at 84-245 Indio Springs Parkway Indio is hosting a job fair to fill over 65 positions, including sushi chef, sous chef, cook, restaurant server, restaurant manager, bartenders/servers, player development, cash ops, maintenance, public safety officers and hotel staff. Some of the positions include on-the-job training, according to the resort.

Managers will be on-site interviewing and offering candidates jobs on the spot, the resort said.

Job fair attendees "should come dressed to impress" and are encouraged to bring a resume, according to the resort. Applicants can view all available employment opportunities at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino at www.fantasyspringsresort.com/employment/.
