Motorcycle Deputy Injured In Indian Wells Crash

INDIAN WELLS, CA — A Riverside County Sheriff's Department deputy sustained minor injuries Monday after his motorcycle collided with an SUV on westbound Highway 111 in Indian Wells.

A Volvo SUV was stopping for traffic ahead, for reasons under investigation, when a deputy's motorcycle traveling at an unconfirmed speed behind the SUV in the No. 1 lane hit the rear of the vehicle, the agency said.

The deputy, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital with stable vital signs. The Volvo driver was not injured.
