Motorcycle Rider Killed In Vehicle Collision In Coachella Valley
The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, and later pronounced dead.
COACHELLA, CA — A motorcycle rider was killed following a collision involving a vehicle Friday in Coachella.
The crash was reported at 5 a.m. Friday in the area of Avenue 54 and Tyler Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Arriving deputies found a rider lying the roadway and provided lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived a short time later. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, and later pronounced dead. The identity of the rider was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The vehicle driver, whose name was not revealed, cooperated with investigators at the scene.
Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the collision, the department stated.
