My Gym Tumbles Into New Home
Local moms and dads are enjoying the new location off Dinah Shore Drive near I-10 in Palm Desert.
For 15 years, Nancy Scott has watched entire families go through classes at My Gym in south Palm Desert, but now she's celebrating the grand opening of a new location near Interstate 10.
“I am delighted that the Palm Desert community has been so welcoming and supportive of our mission to help children create a healthy self-image," Scott said.
Scott said she has strived to make more than a fitness facility for children. She's made it into a place to empower youngsters by helping to develop the skills, confidence and positive self-image they need to become healthy young adults.

“After 15 years in the south area of the city, we are now answering the needs of our residents by opening a new facility in a more central area of Palm Desert near the Monterey/I-10 corridor," Scott said. "The major growth areas are in the northern and eastern parts of the valley, and now, we’re there too.”
The new facility, located at 73760 Dinah Shore Drive between Monterey and Portola avenues, offers classes for children from the age of six weeks to 8 years old. (See a full list of classes here.)

Scott will celebrate the grand opening of the new location with three special events this weekend, starting on Friday with a 3 p.m. ribbon cutting ceremony featuring Palm Desert Mayor Bob Spiegel.
The festivities will continue with a live radio broadcast on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. and open gym hours from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5.
