Name Unveiling Scheduled For Coachella Valley's New Hockey Team
The team's new name will be announced Nov. 5. The team will be the 32nd in the AHL and will be the affiliate to the NHL's Seattle Kraken.
COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — The team name for the Coachella Valley Arena's American Hockey League team will be unveiled next week, officials announced Monday.
An event on Nov. 5 to announce the name and branding will be hosted by the Oak View Group, which owns the team, and the Seattle Kraken National Hockey League team at 11 a.m. at the Classic Club Golf Course Constellation Ballroom in Palm Desert.

The new team will be the 32nd in the AHL and will be the affiliate to the NHL's Seattle Kraken.
A short teaser, announcing the unveiling date, was posted on the Coachella Valley Arena's Twitter page Monday. The teaser showed a fireball flying through noticeable landmarks in the Coachella Valley and ended with a screech of a bird.

According to The Desert Sun, Oak View Group filed patent requests for several potential names such as the Coachella Valley Firebirds, Coachella Valley Dragons, Coachella Valley Eagles and Coachella Valley Falcons.
