New Assistant GM Named At Indio Water Authority
Reymundo Trejo will oversee several of IWA's key areas.

INDIO, CA (January 14, 2020) – The City of Indio is pleased to welcome Reymundo Trejo, P.E., a seasoned water and engineering industry leader as its first Assistant General Manager for the Indio Water Authority (“IWA”) effective January 6, 2020.

In this role, he will oversee several of IWA’s key areas including: engineering and development services, groundwater sustainability, supplemental water development and water resources, and capital improvements and construction management.
A California licensed professional civil engineer, Trejo brings over 25 years of experience gained after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Southern California. He started his engineering career at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, the world’s largest water supply agency before moving on to senior engineering and management roles at the City of Long Beach Water Department and the City of Ontario. He was the Chief Engineer and Assistant General Manager at the Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District from 2010 to 2016. In addition, he held executive positions in the private sector for almost seven years at two engineering consulting firms – AECOM & SAFNA.

“With his more than 20 years of experience leading in the water resources engineering field, I look forward to Reymundo spearheading many infrastructure projects to secure Indio’s water future,” said Trish Rhay, IWA’s General Manager.
“I look forward to sharing my knowledge and understanding of California’s water resources as well as experience in the planning, operations, budgeting, grant funding, and staffing of large infrastructure projects to serve IWA’s needs”, stated Trejo.
