New Business: Combination Chiropractic Orthopedist/LPGA Teaching Pro Opens Shop in Iconic Palm Desert Golf, Tennis Shop

Dr. Jenni Martin, who brought her comprehensive golf swing and body positioning analysis system (http://thegolfgapper.com/) to Palm Desert a year ago, opened a chiropractic office within Palm Desert’s iconic Pete Carlson’s Golf and Tennis Shop on November 1. She specializes in treating musculoskeletal problems with a sub-specialty in golf-related problems.

“When I arrived in the desert, I had intended to help older golfers overcome physical challenges and better enjoy their game,” Dr. Martin said. “However, I discovered my clients needed more comprehensive chiropractic care – back (spinal stenosis), neck, knee, shoulder and elbow (tennis elbow) – so I’m launching my chiropractic office.”

Dr. Martin is a board certified chiropractic orthopedist as well as an LPGA Class A Teaching Professional, the only such dual professional in the western United States. She has been practicing for more than 30 years. She has a Master’s degree in Biomechanical Trauma, certified for sports and recreational injuries, K-Vest Kinematic Sequencing Level II and TPI Level II Medical and Golf Professional.

She stresses that she does not do the “traditional, ‘crack ’em’ chiropractic.” She explained, “I use proven treatment methods, such as Cox Technic technique for treatment of spinal conditions. I also frequently use an Active Release Technique, which is a proven soft tissue therapy for many spine and extremity conditions.”
