UPDATE: New Hospital in Works for Palm Desert

New information says hospital will be smaller than originally reported, and may take longer to build.

Palm Desert may become the site the the valley's first new hospital in 40 years.

According to KESQ.com, a group of 60 local doctors have committed to purchasing property near the intersection of Cook Street and Varner Road.  

New information says the group plans a 120-bed hospital, with possible expansion to 400-beds.   The hospital could take four years to be build, as opposed to three years as originally stated.
