“The recent announcements by Nordstrom Rack and Whole Foods that they will both be opening new locations in Palm Desert vividly illustrate that, despite national economic challenges, Palm Desert continues to experience dynamic retail sector growth and be the Coachella Valley’s premier shopping destination,” Palm Desert Mayor Bob Spiegel said. “We also believe that this is an opportunity to prove that a full service Nordstrom store would be successful in Palm Desert.”
