Operations at PSP Airport 'Running Smoothly' After Istanbul Attack

No local flights were canceled as a result of the attack, airport officials say.

Palm Springs, CA— An apparent suicide bombing that killed at least 31 people and left dozens more wounded Tuesday at an Istanbul airport did not stall operations at Palm Springs International Airport, though airport officials said security measures remain in place to respond to any potential threats.

Palm Springs International Airport Executive Director Tom Nolan did not extensively discuss specifics on airport security, but said recent improvements to structures, such as the surrounding fence line, as well as technological upgrades, helped the airport's "very rigid effort to constantly providing a deployment of resources to keep our patrons safe."

Nolan also said no flights were canceled as a result of the attack, and that the airport would "remain open, running smoothly."
