Palm Desert Business Owner Announces City Council Bid
Evan Trubee, who owns Palm Desert-based outdoor adventure company Big Wheel Tours, announced his candidacy in the Second District.

PALM DESERT, CA — A local business owner announced Wednesday that he is running for a seat on the Palm Desert City Council.
Evan Trubee, who owns Palm Desert-based outdoor adventure company Big Wheel Tours, announced his candidacy in the Second District.
“We are facing uncertain economic times and need a leader who will fight to protect Palm Desert’s future,” Trubee said in a released statement. “I will work to support local entrepreneurship, develop a 4-year university, and fulfill the potential of the northern part of our city — the city in which I’ve chosen to operate my business and raise my family.”

Trubee said he wants to "use his experience navigating multiple financial downturns" to help the city overcome financial challenges due to coronavirus shutdowns.
“Surviving multiple economic downturns has taught me how important it is to be adaptable, take advantage of new opportunities and to not sell out,” he said. “The right decisions at this time will help us come out of this pandemic stronger than ever.

At 8 a.m. Thursday July 23, Trubee is scheduled to hold a drive-thru event at Civic Center Park, where voters can meet him, and supporters can sign his nomination papers, he said. Details are available on his website at www.EvanTrubee.com.
Trubee is married with three children. He said he is a member of the Palm Desert Sustainability Committee, the Palm Springs Hotel Association and Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce.
