Palm Desert High's Graduation Cruise Night Rolls Out June 10

CELEBRATE THE CLASS OF 2020 ON EL PASEO – PALM DESERT HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION CRUISE NIGHT ROLLS OUT JUNE 10

PALM DESERT, CA (May 29, 2020) – Join our community in congratulating and celebrating the graduating seniors from Palm Desert High School’s unforgettable Class of 2020 with a special Graduation Cruise Night starting at 7 p.m. on El Paseo on Friday, June 10.

This fun and free event is a partnership between the City of Palm Desert, the Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce, Palm Desert High School, the Palm Desert High School PTO and Foundation, and El Paseo Cruise Night. Cruise Night members will be driving more than two dozen classic cars as part of the informal parade down El Paseo.

All are welcome including Palm Desert High School graduates, their families, friends, and anyone who wants to join in and celebrate an amazing class that has confronted and overcome many unique challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cruisers must stay in their own cars, travel only with family members with whom they reside, and observe all traffic signs, signals, and rules of the road. Spectators are welcome to watch from inside their vehicles. On street spectators should socially distance (at least six feet of space between individuals) and wear face coverings.

Graduation Cruise Night is just one of a wide variety of things that the City of Palm Desert is doing to celebrate this very special graduating class, The City has produced and put up banners along the El Paseo median in celebration of the graduates of the Class of 2020 and is working with the Chamber of Commerce to provide congratulatory posters to local businesses. Beginning June 1 and continuing every evening through June 14, people will also see a special message to Palm Desert High School graduates illuminated on the side of the McCallum Theatre. The Palm Desert City Council will also be issuing a special proclamation in honor of the graduates at its June 11 meeting declaring that day, graduation day, as Palm Desert High School Class of 2020 Day throughout the City of Palm Desert.

The City thanks the McCallum Theatre and all of the many agencies, organizations, and partners who are joining in what is becoming an inspiring and unprecedented celebration of a class unlike any other. The City’s efforts are part of Unite Palm Desert, a campaign created to support and rally Palm Desert residents and businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath.
