Palm Desert's Backyard Backdrop for Multiple Fashion Shoots

It's not just Fashion Week that's got eyes on the Coachella Valley. A series of recent promotional photo shoots held in Palm Springs focus on the Valley's great weather and environment.

The following was submitted for publication by the Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism: 

National and international fashion retailers are introducing their 2013 spring and summer collections of flirty sundresses, pretty prints and glamorous swimwear in Palm Springs by incorporating the desert’s sun-drenched days, distinctive architecture and relaxing environment. 

With Coachella Music Festival around the corner, Forever 21 has released their new Festival 2013 Capsule Collection along with a “Desert Disco” music video starring Sky Ferreira soaking up the sunshine at the colorful Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs. The retail giant is no stranger to Palm Springs as they were recently playing in the desert dunes along Highway 111 for their Spring Daze campaign.

Orla Kiely, an Irish fashion designer based out of London, introduces her new spring/summer collection in a video by incorporating the Parker Hotel’s playful amenities, the retro elements of The Orbit In, and bold colors of the Saguaro.

Tennis star Ana Ivanovic was recently in town for BNP Paribas Open and was photographed at Viceroy Palm Springs for both national and international magazines to be released this spring.

The Viceroy was also the set for the launch of the spring 2013 collection for Mario’s, a specialty retail store based in the Pacific Northwest. This is the first time the retailer decided to photograph its new line outside of its region, and its new catalog showcases the colorful and sophisticated collection.

Korakia Pensione is featured in an online video and lookbook by Boys + Arrows, who recently launched their new swimwear collection. The romantic inn was also featured in Pacific Wedding Magazine as the backdrop for a new bridal collection. 

McLean Company Rentals and its Colony 29 vacation rental is becoming a new hot spot for commercial shoots including Hudson Jeans, Blair Catalog and Volkswagen. The property was featured on “Occupation Double,” a top reality television series in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Palm Springs continues to gain attention across the globe because of its film-friendly locations, services and processes. The City of Palm Springs recently launched a new “Film Friendly” Incentive Program, which includes the waiver of film permit fees and a limited quantity of $5,000 grants, either in cash or in-kind services, for production expenditures in the city that total a minimum of $25,000.
