Palm Desert Under Excessive Heat Watch: Hottest Day Of The Week
Palm Desert & the Inland Empire will see an excessive heat watch as a high-pressure system parks over the area. Here's what to expect.
PALM DESERT, CA — Drink plenty of fluids, keep the kids and pets inside and prepare for flex alerts through the upcoming holiday weekend. Palm Desert and much of the Inland Empire are under an excessive heat watch to start the week as communities prepare to bake under triple-digit weather. The National Weather Service expects temperatures to reach over 100 degrees in some areas Monday and follow that pattern across most areas well past Labor Day, according to the National Weather Service.
Residents who experience extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly those working or participating in outdoor activities.
Be prepared to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors, the weather experts recommend.
