Palm Springs Aerial Tramway 'Guest Stars' On Discovery Channel

The tram serves as setting for upcoming episode of new series "Aaron Needs a Job," with "Fast 'N Loud" star Aaron Kaufman.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will be in the spotlight during an upcoming episide of Discovery Channel's “Aaron Needs a Job,” a new series featuring custom car-builder and former star of “Fast ‘N Loud” Aaron Kaufman.

Kaufman will team up with the tramway’s maintenance team in the one-hour episode, set to air at 10 p.m. Sept. 9. Viewers will be treated to a rare, up-close look at working several hundred feet in the air as the sheaves — the tram's grooved wheels —are changed.

“Aaron Needs a Job,” debuted July 15, with Kaufman on a journey to find his next big gig, as he works with various industries, motors, machines and mechanical minds. Follow this link for past episodes.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is the world’s largest rotating tram car. Opened in 1963, the Tram’s 80-passenger cars travel along the cliffs of Chino Canyon from the Valley Station (elevation 2,643 ft.) to the Mountain Station (elevation 8,516 ft.) in approximately 10 minutes.
