Palm Springs Art Museum Presents Broadway's 'Best in the West'
The Palm Springs Art Museum announces that the 2017 Broadway's 'Best In the West' series will kick off on January 21.
From Cord Media: Palm Springs Art Museum is proud to present the 2017 Broadway’s Best… In the West! series, featuring well-known Broadway stars, up-and-coming talents and some of America’s top Cabaret and Jazz performers.
Presented by the Museum’s Annenberg Theater Council, the series kicks off January 21 with An Evening with Cheyenne Jackson, featuring the talented singer, songwriter and actor performing at 8 p.m. in the Museum’s Annenberg Theater. While the Jackson performance is already sold out, tickets are still available for the following performances:
- Jane Monheit, one of today’s finest contemporary Jazz vocalists/musicians, pays tribute to a legend in The Songbook Sessions: Ella Fitzgerald, Saturday, February 18 at 8 p.m. Tickets: $75 and $65 ($5 off for Museum members).
- Liz Callaway & Jason Graae, two of the most talented Broadway/Cabaret performers of our time, star in Happily Ever Laughter, Saturday, March 18 at 8 p.m. Tickets: $75 and $65 ($5 off for Museum members).
- Norm Lewis, the Tony-nominated star of Porgy and Bess, brings his breathtaking range and power to the Annenberg stage in An Evening with Norm Lewis, Saturday, April 8 at 8 p.m. Tickets: $75 and $65 ($5 off for Museum members).
“From the Great White Way to the Great American Songbook, the Broadway’s Best… In the West! series showcases some of today’s most impressive and versatile performers,” said Elizabeth Armstrong, Palm Springs Art Museum’s JoAnn McGrath Executive Director. “The Annenberg Theater is an ideal venue to experience their extraordinary talents in an intimate setting, not unlike Broadway itself.”

The Annenberg Theater is entering the second season of its Take Your Seat Campaign, in which the names of generous donors are etched into handsome plaques affixed to the back of a theater seat, to be admired by everyone who attends a performance. Funds raised by the campaign will support critical upgrades to the theater’s sound system and lighting, as well as other 21st Century production enhancements.
