Passenger Killed After Falling Or Jumping From Moving Truck In Thermal: CHP

THERMAL, CA — An investigation was continuing Monday into the death of a 36-year-old man who either fell or jumped from a moving pickup in Thermal.

Claudio Hernandez Martinez of Thermal was fatally injured shortly after 11 p.m. Friday on Van Buren Street, south of Avenue 54, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Martinez was a passenger in a pickup traveling southbound on Van Buren Street when he either fell or jumped from the vehicle while it was in motion, "causing fatal injuries," CHP Officer David Torres said.

No further information was immediately available.
