Tennis Club Names New General Manager

In the next installment of "10 Palm Desert Businesses You Need to Know," the longtime Palm Desert Tennis Club's director of tennis adds general manager duties, effective Jan. 1.

The has named Ken Kuperstein as its new General Manager/Director of Tennis, with his duties starting on Jan. 1. 

Kuperstein, who had been serving as the club’s director of tennis, takes over the GM duties from the retiring Terry Basham. Basham had served as the PDTC’s manager for 15 years. 

“I’ve been at PDTC for 10 years now,” Kuperstein said, “I’ve watched kids and grandkids of members growing up. PDTC has a great reputation, and I want to continue the growth and fun and exciting tennis and social activities.”

Kuperstein played on the ATP tour for five years, and was the No. 1 ranked teaching pro in the United States in 1998 and 2000. 

Basham, the outgoing general manager, had never missed a day of work in his 15 years with Palm Desert Tennis Club.

He looks forward to his retirement, and plans on spending more time with family, playing tennis and golf, and watching more football.
