Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Cathedral City

The man was hospitalized at Desert Regional.

A motorist struck a pedestrian in Cathedral City early Tuesday morning, the third such accident in the city in the past several weeks, authorities said.

The driver reported the crash about 5:50 a.m. near Landau Boulevard and McCallum Way, Cathedral City police Sgt. Ed Colon said. The pedestrian, a man, was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs with undisclosed injuries.

Colon said the driver was going south on Landau when the victim “crossed the street during the hours of darkness not utilizing a crosswalk and also not wearing any type of reflective clothing.” The driver called 911, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, he said.
