1K Color Run, 5K Walk/Run, Reverse Mini-triathlon and Health Fair Benefits the YMCA of the Desert on October 12

The following was submitted for publication on behalf of the Y Be Fit Challenge:

The Y Be Fit Palm Desert Challenge takes place next week on Sunday, October 12, offering families the opportunity to participate together in healthy activities while having fun. With a 1K Color Run, a 5K Walk/Run, and even a Reverse Mini-triathlon, there are options for every skill level and for recreational participants. In addition, the first 300 entrants for the First Bank 1K Color Run on the day of the event receive a pair of protective sunglasses.

The Palm Desert Civic Center Park is one of the most beautiful parks in the Coachella Valley and will serve as the hub of the Y Be Fit Palm Desert Challenge activities. The park is a perfect setting for the event and is also home to the Family YMCA of the Desert and the Palm Desert Aquatic Center.

“This is a great time of year to get outside now that our hot summer is cooling off, and a nice opportunity for families to reconnect and have quality time together after back-to-school rushing around,” said Sabby Jonathan, YMCA Board of Directors.
