The BMW then parked at an apartment complex in the 13000 block of Ocotillo Road, which neither the driver nor passenger resided at, Saucier said. Officers instructed the motorist to exit the vehicle to pat him down to search for weapons before he fled on foot, prompting a brief pursuit, police said.
