RivCo Man Arrested For Alleged Possession Of Narcotics, Firearm In Palm Springs: Police

Officers allegedly found roughly two pounds of suspected methamphetamine and a shotgun during the investigation.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — A 64-year-old man accused of being a wanted subject was behind bars Thursday for alleged possession of narcotics and a firearm in Palm Springs.

Philip Robert Yeakel of Desert Hot Springs was booked Tuesday on suspicion of possession for sales, transportation for sales and a felon in possession of a firearm, according to Lt. Mike Torres of the Palm Springs Police Department.

Bail information was not immediately available.

Police said a traffic stop was conducted after officers saw a vehicle driven by a wanted felony suspect at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Francis and Sunny View drives. It was unclear what type of felony or felonies Yeakel was wanted for.
