Road Work To Cause Traffic Woes In Indio Will Last Through March, 2026

INDIO, CA — Scheduled street and utility work improvements in Indio next week are expected to create traffic delays for motorists.

A construction alert released by city officials states that Indio Boulevard will be closed between the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and Burr Street from Tuesday through March 31.

Construction work will be underway on the north side of Indio Boulevard, including new water lines, sidewalks, curbs, driveways, and road widening.

Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane, and one of the two northbound turn lanes from Jefferson Street to westbound Indio Boulevard will be closed.

Officials advised motorists to expect delays, to plan to use alternate routes and to allow extra travel time.
