Roads Close In Indio Due To Heavy Flooding: Turn Around, Don't Drown

INDIO, CA — Turn around, don’t drown. Overnight, the city of Indio had heavy rainfall come through the city.

"There are several streets that have been flooded," officials said, leading to the following road closures Friday morning.

• Fred Waring Drive between Hoover Avenue and Monroe Street;
• Fred Waring Drive between Monroe Street and Clinton Street
• Coyote Song Way;
• Highway 111 between Monroe Street and Jackson Street;
• Avenue 48 between Monroe Street and Jackson Street;
• Madison Street is between Miles Avenue and Avenue 46.

Additionally, Jefferson between Dunbar and Avenue 42 will be reduced to one lane, and the westbound lane on Monroe Street and Avenue 42 will be closed.
