'Splash with Santa': Visit Mr. Claus at Palm Desert Aquatic Center, Get Free Swim Pass

In order to get a swim pass, you must be one of the first 50 to bring a toy donation.

The Palm Desert Aquatic Center (PDAC), a one-of-its-kind water park in the Coachella Valley, invites residents and visitors to the area to meet Santa Claus on December 20 from 2 to 4 p.m.

This free event gives children - and adults - the opportunity to visit with Santa and enjoy refreshments. In addition, professional photos with Santa are being offered for $5 each.

PDAC will also award free swim passes to be used on a future visit to the first 50 toy donations benefiting the YMCA Toy Drive, with a limit of one toy per person. The one day pass to the pool is valid through May 2015.

Lap swim passes are now offered and can be used Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They cost $25 for Palm Desert residents and $45 for non-Palm Desert residents. The facility is recognized for outstanding facilities, and even attracts national college swim team students for training.

For some fun and socializing, adult water fitness classes are offered six days a week. This can be a great option for those requiring a less impactful form of exercise while still providing resistance training. A variety of class levels and forms include Shallow Water Exercise, Arthritis Water Class, Deep Water Boot Camp, Zumba Gold and Silver Sneakers classes.

Another fun and rewarding exercise is adult water polo now taking place Fridayevenings from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Designed for participants 18 years and older, the cost is $5 at the main entrance to the facility.
