Stagecoach Country Music Festival Day 2: In Photos

The second day of the Riverside County-based festival featured headliner Carrie Underwood with a surprise appearance from Axl Rose.

INDIO, CA — The second day of the Stagecoach Country Music festival featured a dazzling headliner performance from Carrie Underwood with multiple outfit changes and a surprise appearance from Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses during her set.

Her performance included many theatrics including pyrotechnics and a choir.

Underwood brought Rose to perform a pair of his band's hard rock classics, "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Paradise City."

Underwood, a self-proclaimed Guns N' Roses fan, later thanked Rose on Twitter for "making this lifelong dream come true!!!"

Underwood's set followed performances by the Brothers Osborne, Lee Brice, Cody Jinks and others.

The county-pop superstar was also among the Stagecoach performers who reacted on Twitter to the death of country vocalist Naomi Judd on Saturday, tweeting, "Country music lost a true legend ... sing with the angels, Naomi!!! We're all sending up prayers for the Judd family today..."

Maren Morris, who played the Mane Stage on Friday night, tweeted, "Rest In Peace, Naomi Judd. Honored to have witnessed `Love Can Build a Bridge' just a few short weeks ago."

Guy Fieri was also in attendance for Underwood's set and could be seen taking video the country star from the photo pit. Earlier on Saturday, attendees could enjoy his barbecue at the Stagecoach Smokehouse.

He was joined by chefs Kevin Bludso, owner of Bludso’s BBQ in Compton, and Chris Schobel, owner of Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse restaurant in Kihei, Hawaii, the Desert Sun reported.

The Stagecoach Country Music Festival concludes Sunday with Luke Combs headlining following performances by The Black Crowes, Cody Johnson, Smokey Robinson and others.

Doors will open at noon at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, with the first performance from Flatland Cavalry on the Palomino Stage set to begin at 12:30 p.m.

Combs is scheduled to perform at 9:15 p.m. on the Mane Stage and the night will end with a performance by Diplo on the Palomino Stage at 10:50 p.m.
