Supervisor Benoit to Kick Off Young Pilot Training
Benoit, a pilot himself, will speak Saturday to local high schoolers looking to become aviators

Supervisor John J. Benoit will provide opening remarks Saturday at the Coachella Valley Youth Aviation Education Program, a three-week session that will put the high school students on a fast track to receiving a FAA private pilot’s certificate.
The program kicks off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Thermal Sheriff’s Station at 86-625 Airport Blvd. The summer program is free for the 40 to 50 selected high school students.
“These students have a unique and invaluable exposure to careers as pilots, flight crew, airport operators, meteorologists and other aviation professionals,” said Supervisor John J. Benoit. “As a pilot, I hope they leave inspired to further their education and pursue their dream of a career in aviation.”
