Tesla Opening New Store on El Paseo

The store will be open just in time for the Black Friday crowds.

If you’ve ever wanted to see what driving an electric car feels like or how they are built, you’ll now be able to do so right in Palm Desert, on El Paseo. Tesla is opening a brand-new store on Black Friday.

The location, which is located at The Gardens on El Paseo, boasts a showroom and company experts to help explain just what goes into building these vehicles.

“Unlike traditional automotive dealerships, Tesla stores invite customers to learn about the benefits of owning an electric vehicle through interactive and enticing displays including the Tesla design studio which allows customers to create their own Model S with their desired interior, exterior, and performance options,” representatives said in a news release announcing the grand opening. “Visitors can test drive the Model S, which delivers the longest range of any electric car, holds the highest possible safety ratings, and through free over-the-air software updates is equipped with revolutionary autopilot features.”

Company representatives tell Patch they chose El Paseo for this store since it’s an area with high foot traffic. They encourage curious car aficionados to stop by, saying the location is meant to provide a “low pressure sales environment.”

The store is located at 73-515 El Paseo, Suite G-1702— next to the Williams Sonoma store. It’ll be open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
