Tilted Kilt closure 'sign of the times'
The once-popular Irish themed sports pub is now up for sale.
After just over two years since opening, the in Palm Desert is one of the latest victims of a slowing economy, according to Barbara deBoom of the Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce.
"It's a sign of the times,'' deBoom said of the Celctic-themed restaurant's closing.
But that does not mean things look bleak for the business community in Palm Desert, she said.

"Lately for every one that closes, there seems that one more opens. recently relocated and Tommy Bahama's is putting in over $3 million dollars in upgrades,'' deBoom told Patch.
At the same shopping center where the Tilted Kilt is shuttered, a is expected to open next year.

The Tilted Kilt -- a cross between a contemporary Irish Pub and a sports bar -- closed with little fanfare July 17 for the summer.
A sign at the front of the building stated: “The cast and crew
are on summer vacation while we enhance our pub with elements to make for an even greater customer experience.”
Kristin Cronhardt, Vice President of Marketing for the Arizona-based chain, told The Desert Sun that the location is up for sale and could re-open if a buyer is found.
She also said that the current franchise owner has had financial difficulties with the location.
According to Baxley Propereties, the site is currently listed for sale at $3.5 million.
