Tip-A-Firefighter' Planned In Rancho Mirage This Thursday

PALM DESERT, CA - From Loma Linda University Children's Hospital: The Old Spaghetti Factory (OSF) in Rancho Mirage is hosting its 4th annual Tip-a-Firefighter event, benefiting Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH) on Thursday, October 12 during lunch and dinner.

The Old Spaghetti Factory is located at 71743 Hwy 111, Rancho Mirage. Firefighters and fire cadets will be serving lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and dinner from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Firefighters from Cal Fire and Riverside County Fire Department will be on hand serving and collecting tips. Fire cadets from the Fire Academy at College of the Desert will also be lending a helping hand. All tips collected by the firefighters and fire cadets will be donated to LLUCH.

Additionally, the Big Hearts for Little Hearts Desert Guild is partnering up with Old Spaghetti Factory in Rancho Mirage to help raise funds to ensure critical care for the children of the Coachella Valley.

The Big Hearts for Little Hearts Desert Guild in support of LLUCH was founded in 2002 to raise awareness and support the Children’s Hospital. Over the past 15 years, the Desert Guild has raised over $3.5 million to serve the Coachella Valley and its children through action and leadership, emphasizing children’s health care needs.

Funds from the Tip-A-Firefighter fundraiser will go toward Vision 2020: The Campaign for a Whole Tomorrow, and the construction of the new Children’s Hospital tower.

LLUCH treats approximately 2,000 children from the Coachella Valley every year, and partners with community hospitals in the Coachella Valley, transporting them by ambulance and helicopter to Loma Linda for specialized services not available in the desert communities.
