Tram Gets First Snowfall, Guessing Contest Ends

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway on Monday announced 10 winners of its annual snow-guessing contest, which ended with the first snowfall of the season on Sunday.

The tram’s Mountain Station, at 8,516 feet, got an inch and a half, spokesman Greg Purdy said.

In the contest, which started Oct. 1, the first 10 people who correctly predicted the first snowfall were guaranteed four tram admissions each and a picture frame.

In all, 369 entries were received, Purdy said.

The winning contestants were:
