Two Nabbed for DUI at Palm Desert Checkpoint, Police Say

The weekend operation was held at Highway 111 and Town Center Way.

Two drivers were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and two vehicles were towed during an overnight driver’s license/sobriety checkpoint in Palm Desert, a sheriff’s deputy said Sunday.

Also, 14 citations were issued during the checkpoint at Highway 111 and Town Center Way that began at 8 p.m. Friday and ended today at 3 a.m., said Deputy Bill Conoway of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Conoway said 14 motorists cited or arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or while on a suspended or revoked license.

The deputy said 793 vehicles passed through the checkpoint.
