Two Palm Desert Teens Arrested in Connection to Coachella Murder

Both were booked into the Indio jail on suspicion of homicide.

Two Palm Desert men have been arrested as suspects in the shooting death of a man in Coachella, authorities said Tuesday.

Twenty-three-year-old Fabian Martinez of Coachella was found dead from at least one gunshot wound in the roadway in the 48600 block of Camino Las Brisas Sunday morning, said Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Buompensiero.

Detectives Monday arrested 19-year-old Carlos Jay Martinez and 18-year- old Noel Hernandez, both of Palm Desert, Buompensiero said. Both were booked into the Indio jail on suspicion of homicide.

Sheriff’s inmate records indicate both remain in custody in lieu of $1 million bail each, with court appearances set for Wednesday.
