UC Riverside Ranked 32nd By Money Magazine

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — UC Riverside was 32nd on Money magazine's list of the nation's "50 Best Colleges" released Monday.

"Seventy-three percent of students graduate -- a rate that is about 33 percent higher than that of similar schools with comparable student demographics," Money's editors said. "Average early career salaries top $51,600, which is 16 percent higher than their peers, who come from similar institutions. Both metrics thus place UCR well ahead of similar schools."

The magazine put the estimated cost to attend UCR in 2018-19 at $35,500 without aid and $13,800 with aid, and the percentage of students who get grants at 96 percent. The average UCR student's post-graduation debt is $19,100.

To be considered for the rankings, each university had to have at least 500 students, sufficient data for analysis, not be in financial distress and have a graduation rate equal to or higher than the median for the institution's category. In total, 727 schools met the requirements and were then weighted by education quality, affordability and outcomes.

"These rankings demonstrate what millions of students and alumni already know -- the University of California provides a transformative and affordable education for talented young people from all walks of life," UC President Janet Napolitano said.
