UCR Osher Fall Classes Open For Registration: Riverside & Palm Desert
Lifelong learners can take in person or online classes on everything from American cinema to Impressionist art, history to current events.

PALM DESERT, CA — UCR Osher Palm Desert and UCR Osher Riverside centers fall courses are now open for registration. Considered a lifelong learning institute, that considers students members in a quest for knowledge.
This fall quarter is the first under the helm of new UCR Osher Director Johnna Norris.
Norris, a Coachella Valley resident, was appointed in July and oversees the program for Osher Lifelong Learning Institute members in both Riverside and Palm Desert, a spokesperson for UCR Osher said in a recent release.

"We are adults with wide-ranging interests in history, literature, the natural and social sciences, fine arts and special events," Norris said on the website. "The 2022-2023 membership year will be an opportunity to rebuild Osher at UCR with in-person courses and events on both the Riverside and Palm Desert campuses."
The recently released fall 2022 catalog contains a full schedule of courses for lifelong learners ages 50 and above, and reflects the varied interests of UCR Osher members. Classes include everything from American cinema to Impressionist art, history to current events. Classes will be held in person in Palm Desert and Riverside, and remote courses will be offered over Zoom.

The centers are offering online courses for those who prefer to learn from home or wish to continue taking courses while they are abroad.
"There is truly something for everyone this fall at Osher at UCR," Norris wrote in a welcome letter to prospective members. "Please help us continue to offer quality educational programming for mature adults by renewing your membership and signing up for courses today."
Osher student Christine Waaijenberg Miller discussed her enjoyment in the program.
“Just finished another Osher class and I loved it!" Miller said. "What a great way to enrich your mind and life. It is a pleasure to be with others who also love to continue learning!”
