PALM SPRINGS, CA — The oversized "Art of Viola Frey" is coming to the Palm Springs Art Museum in a special lecture slated for Saturday, January 20.
Head to the Palm Springs Art Museum's Annenberg Theater at Main Museum from 11 a.m. to noon for the lecture followed by another hour, from reviewing Frey's work in the Douglas Art Vault.
"Frey (no relation to Albert!) was a California artist celebrated for her monolithic ceramic sculptures of men and women," a museum spokesperson said. For the lecture, the panel includes renowned ceramicist and professor at Cal State Long Beach Tony Marsh and the Artists' Legacy Foundation's Director of Collections and Archives, Cynthia de Bos.
