Volunteer Beautification Event to be Held in Bermuda Dunes
The eighth annual 'Community Just Serve Day' is planned for Saturday.

BERMUDA DUNES, CA- More than 300 volunteers will spruce up local schools, senior centers and other community facilities Saturday during the eighth annual Community Just Serve Day.
The event formerly known as Community Helping Hands Day will be based at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bermuda Dunes, where church members and volunteers from a number of local community service organizations will convene, then fan out to restore project sites throughout the region.

Schools, senior centers, boys and girls clubs, YMCAs, parking lots and hiking trails are slated for beautification or clean-up projects by the volunteer collective.
The volunteers will begin the day by meeting at the church for a pancake breakfast to be attended by community leaders, including Riverside County Supervisor John J. Benoit.

"It is always a tremendous pleasure to see so many volunteers give back to the community and make our world a better place," Benoit said. "Their community service keeps our valley looking beautiful, and their efforts will make an immediate difference."
Anyone can volunteer, but proper footwear and work gloves are advised.
