'This Was Community:' Over $1M Raised In Coachella Valley Day Of Giving

See who donated, how much, and what non-profit organizations received over $20K for the day.

PALM DESERT, CA — A 24-hour online fundraiser supporting nearly 150 nonprofit organizations throughout the Coachella Valley took place Tuesday.

Organizations that benefitted from Giving Day include the Coachella Valley Cat Club, LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert, Mizell Center, Revolution Stage Company, Desi Strong Foundation, Hanson House Foundation, Deserted Films, Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City, Find Food Bank, First Tee Coachella Valley and Native American Land Conservancy.

Since its start in 2023, the campaign has raised more than $2 million for local causes, according to the Desert Community Foundation, which conducts the event.

In addition to the fundraiser, participating nonprofits may receive prize incentives ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.

Giving Day raised $1,008,700 with 1,797 donations, 1,395 donors and benefitted 149 organizations, officials said.

Some of the top donors, each over $100,000, included the Desert Community Foundation and California Bank & Trust.

Directed donations went to the top 10 nonprofit organizations:

  1. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley: $26,125
  2. Palm Springs Art Museum: $25,700
  3. Eisenhower Health Foundation: $25,140
  4. Reynaldo J. Carreon MD Foundation: $18,865
  5. Martha's Village and Kitchen: $17,586
  6. MODERN MEN Coachella Valley Men's Chorus: $11,825
  7. Coachella Valley Repertory: $11,500
  8. Hidden Harvest: $11,325
  9. College of the Desert Foundation: $10,965
  10. Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus: $8,199
