Weekly Walks Begin In Desert Cities
The walks, sponsored by United Way of the Desert, will be held each Saturday through Oct. 21.
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA – The annual Nine Weekly Walks health initiative, held through October in nine desert cities, begins today in Desert Hot Springs
The walks, sponsored by United Way of the Desert, will be held each Saturday through Oct. 21, beginning with Saturday's event at Desert Hot Springs' Mission Springs Park, 66750 Park Lane.
The free 7 a.m. 5K walk will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Desert Hot Springs, as each walk is tied to a different Coachella Valley charitable organization. Attendees are asked to bring backpacks and school supplies to donate.

The events will culminate with the 32nd annual Palm Springs Aerial Tram Road Challenge 6K Run/Walk, an uphill trek up Tramway Road in Palm Springs.
