What's Open, Closed In Palm Desert On Memorial Day 2022

Many employers, government offices and services will close to observe the Monday holiday across Riverside County.

PALM DESERT, CA — On Memorial Day, the bustle of daily business will slow down a bit in California as swaths of government offices, banks and businesses close to observe the holiday.

The holiday, which honors men and women of the military who died in service, was recognized as a holiday in 1971.

In Palm Desert, on federal holidays, most banks close, and transactions come to a halt. Across the state, Wells Fargo, Chase, Capital One, Bank of America, U.S. Bank and California Bank & Trust will close.

Local credit unions will also be closed on the Memorial Day holiday.

All government offices and schools will also close, courts will not be in session, and the Department of Motor Vehicles will shut down.

In Palm Desert and across the state, the U.S. Postal Service will not deliver on Memorial Day. UPS will not deliver or pick up on Monday. FedEx services will also likely be closed.

Restaurants and grocery stores will likely remain open to accommodate Californians who have the day off.

Be sure and check your favorite store for hours before you head out for extra ketchup or hamburger buns: Albertsons, Aldi, Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, Ralphs, Trader Joe’s, and Walmart Super Center all report the stores will be open.

CR & R will be running as scheduled all week.

Waste Management customers will be on a holiday schedule this week. Trash services may be affected within the next 15 days.
