Witnesses Sought In Fatal Shooting: Thousand Palms

THOUSAND PALMS, CA — A man was fatally wounded Friday in the unincorporated community of Thousand Palms, but details about the shooting were sketchy.

Deputies were sent to the 73600 block of Stanton Drive about 2:30 a.m. on reports of gunfire, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Sgt. Steve Brosche said deputies arrived to find 39-year-old Edward Pierce of Thousand Palms dead from a gunshot wound.

Sheriff's officials did not release any information regarding a suspect.
