Woman, 65, Arrested On Suspicion of Murder in Palm Desert

Deputies responding to a report of unknown trouble found a beaten victim and the suspect at the scene.

PALM DESERT, CA — A 65-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder in Palm Desert, authorities announced Saturday.

Deputies responded to the 35000 block of Gateway Drive at 9:47 a.m. Friday to a report of an unknown trouble, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

They found a person suffering from traumatic injuries consistent with physical assault. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and sheriff's homicide detectives assumed the investigation.

Vicky Kim of Palm Desert was later identified as the suspect and located at the scene. Kim was arrested and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of murder. She was expected to appear in court Thursday at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.

The victim's identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
