Woman Arrested on Suspicion of DUI After Running Red Light, Crashin

The other driver suffered minor injuries in the crash.

A 23-year-old allegedly drunken motorist escaped injury but not arrest Saturday when she drove through a red light at an intersection in Palm Desert and struck another motorist who suffered minor injuries.

Palm Desert resident Leslie Gaytan was going southbound in a gray Honda Civic at 2:20 a.m. on Bob Hope Drive when she failed to stop at a red light and hit the right side of a Honda Accord going westbound on Frank Sinatra Drive, said Palm Desert police Sgt. Ken Black.

The driver of the Honda Accord suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Gaytan was arrested for felony DUI and was booked into the county jail in Indio, Black said.
