Woman Dies After Being Hit By Vehicle In Palm Desert

PALM DESERT, CA — A woman who was hit by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Palm Desert has died, authorities announced.

The incident was reported at approximately 7:40 a.m. in the area of Portola Avenue and Frank Sinatra Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Paramedics transported the injured woman to a local hospital, where she later died. Her identity was not released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver who was involved in the crash remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The crash cause is still under investigation, though it does not appear alcohol and/or drugs were factors, according to the sheriff's department.

No arrests were announced.
