Woman Shot Dead in Hwy 111 Motel Room

INDIO, CA – Police investigating the shooting death of a woman inside an Indio hotel room had little to go on Monday as far as a suspect or motive.

Police received multiple 911 calls around 2:15 a.m. Sunday regarding "a disturbance and possible shooting" at the Royal Plaza Inn at 82347 Highway 111, according to Indio police Sgt. Daniel Marshall.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. Her name was withheld pending notification of her family.

IPD detectives are "investigating all available leads," Marshall said, but "currently have no information as to why the shooting occurred or further detailed suspect(s) information at this time."
