PALM DESERT, CA — A female pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle earlier this month in Palm Desert was identified Tuesday as a 66-year-old Northern California resident.

Shannon Daly of Mill Creek was hit at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, in the intersection of Portola Avenue and Retreat Circle. She was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center and died later that morning, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau.

The driver of the vehicle was cooperative with investigators, and it appears that alcohol or drugs were not factors in the crash, authorities said.
