Young Women, Their Moms To Talk Mental Health In Palm Desert

The National Charity League is hosting "The Sunny Girl," Lauren Cook, at the event.

From The National Charity League: Lauren Cook, A.K.A. “The Sunny Girl” will deliver an inspirational keynote presentation to about 200 young women and their mothers during a special gathering of the three valley chapters of National Charity League, Inc. (NCL). Lauren is an interactive speaker who loves to include audience engagement and participation in each of her presentations.

Lauren graduated from UCLA with a double major in Communications Studies and Psychology. Lauren received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from USC and is currently working toward her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University. She is the author of two books: The Sunny Side Up!, which encourages young people to choose a life of happiness and Name Your Story, about crating open dialog about mental health.

Lauren was an NCL Ticktocker (7th-12th grade member), and has since visited more than 100 chapters across the country to inspire leadership and community service. The national organization recently engaged Lauren to create a new core program for all NCL Ticktocker members.

Lauren’s presentation will be on the topic of her latest book, which she will be available to sign afterward, cultivating positive mental health and wellness for women of all ages.
