The Riverside County Gang Impact Team attempted to serve a search warrant related to an assault with a deadly weapon investigation at about 1 p.m. Friday. After several commands to leave the premises, Chaidez refused, and he began calling 911, authorities said.

A SWAT team responded to the scene a short time later , but a crisis negotiator who was talking to Chaidez over the phone persuaded him to exit the home prior to the team's arrival, police said.

The department said there were no outstanding suspects, but further details about the investigation were not immediately provided.

Anyone with additional information regarding the case was asked to call 760-770-0303, or report tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 760-341- 7867.
