Palm Springs Fire Department To Host Emergency Response Training Courses Beginning Oct. 16

PALM SPRINGS, CA —Palm Springs residents who want to learn about emergency preparedness will be able to join free training courses offered by the Palm Springs Fire Department in October.

Palm Springs Fire Department will host three Community Emergency Response Team training courses at its training center from Oct. 16 to Oct. 18. The classes are limited to 40 participants.

Participants will learn disaster response skills, including fire safety, light search and rescue, basic medical operations and more.

The Community Emergency Response Team training courses will last 20 hours. Participants will be required to complete hands-on exercises in fire suppression, search and rescue, cribbing and medical operations.

Participants who complete the courses will receive a certificate and a backpack with emergency supplies.

Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, the agency said.

The training courses will be held again Jan. 22 to Jan. 24, 2026 and March 5 to March 7, 2026.
